WHY DO PEOPLE DISAPPEAR?
by JR ROSE - Private Investigator

As we all know , people don't really disappear into thin air, but actually, we lose track of family members, friends and old loves for one reason or another, whether it be the result of a past argument where harsh words were said, the passage of time where we lose track of old friends, or through the process of adoption.

So the real question is how do we locate someone once contact has been lost?

Your best way to locate anyone is through their Social Security Number (SSN). We all use our SSN for employment purposes (part of it's original intent), medical records, consumer credit, bank accounts and more. The major credit bureaus all collect personal information on each individual who applies for charge cards, auto loans, bank accounts, utilities, cellular phones and more. Any place you apply for credit, there is a credit application to be filled out and signed. All of this information is gathered and stored and shared by the 3 major credit bureaus.

Obviously, if you could tap into this information, you would more than likely find the subject of your search. Our SSN's have become the major tell-all about our private lives. But before you worry about what the credit files say about you, or who might be looking at it, you must know that new laws have been created to ensure that your privacy is not violated. In fact, there are stiff fines for any misuse or misappropriation concerning consumer credit files. The laws are so strict, that the major credit bureaus have now clammed-up about who can access their information.

This is good for our private lives, but bad for the purpose of searching.

Still, Private Investigators are part of a small selected group of those who have permissable reasons (with signed documentation) and who are allowed to access non-sensitive credit information. From this information, the subject of your search can be found very fast.

In most cases though, you will not have a SSN. In cases such as this, if the last known address is less than 20 years old, a Private Investigator can again locate the subjects SSN from the old address information.

You can check the price list of common investigative services at the Rose Investigation web site.

If you need help in locating a SSN or obtaining current address information, contact me with the details of your search and the results found to date, and I will gladly reply with answers and prices. - - JR Rose
